Ahoy folks!

You know, I’m awfully afraid that seeing as Ninjago is “over” (so the writers say) that the fandom is gonna kinda go… 📉

Like, the fandom wasn’t all that huge in the first place, (although pretty decent sized consider it’s about LEGO Ninja) but now we’re running out of food 😐

If you want my opinion, it’s the characters and the shipping that keeps a fandom alive, and although the characters in Ninjago are delightful, we are lacking in the ship content area

I mean, the Jaya in Crystalized was just SAD and MEASLY. Slim pickin’s folks

Anyway, none of what I just said is relevant to this post, so let’s move on

I wrote down a bunch of headcanons and semi-canon fun facts about the Ninja, and now I’m going to share them with you because why not?

Cole

• Had a good education, maybe attended private school. Best subject was history. He has really good handwriting.
• He didn’t play a lot of video games when he was younger, but in recent years (s11 onward) he’s gotten really good, better than even Jay at some games. His favorite games though are avatar creators and RPGs
• He likes to draw and sketch, but he doesn’t do it that often.
• He’s good at dancing, but terrible at singing (both of these are pretty well canon)
• He is colorblind
• Still has minor aqua-phobia from his time as a ghost. Like, the hot tub isn’t so bad, but there’s a reason he stayed at the Monastery during Seabound
• He’s not exactly afraid of heights, but he’s afraid of falling FROM heights. For, obvious reasons
• Cole is naturally a big guy, whether he is in shape or not, he’s just built very broad.
• He’s pretty tall. His mother was really tall, but his dad is really short. He and Jay were the tallest Ninja in the beginning, and nowadays it’s Cole and Zane who are tallest.
• You know how when he uses his powers his hands and part of his arms glow orange? Well, I’m my headcanon, that goes all the way up his arms and when he isn’t using his powers, it looks like he has burn scars, but in a really specific formation. (Same thing for the scar on his forehead.)
• Born with hazel eyes, they get some orangish flecks in them into his adulthood (due to his powers)
• He likes dressing cozy.
• He’s a cat person, for sure
• Taurus zodiac

Jay

• He had a decent education. He was homeschooled by his parents up until middle school, then they started taking him to a small school on the outskirts of Ninjago City. That’s where most of his insecurities come from about being brought up in a junkyard and being poor and all that
• Terrible, chicken scratch handwriting.
• Good at video games of course. Jay is more of a vintage game guy, arcades and computer games are his jam, where Cole prefers the console.
• Nya was the one who taught him to paint, and he only got really good at portraits in between Seabound and Crystalized.
• Best subject was Literature.
• He’s not a bad cook
• Good at dancing (of course) but not a good singer
• Has anxiety
• Severe arachnophobia (fear of spiders)
• He was really scrawny when he was young, but into adulthood he’s more prone to some chub.
• Struggles with self confidence. Prone to getting stuck in his own head
• He got his growth spurt really early so for the longest time he was just a tall string bean, but then everyone else caught up to him and now he’s just on the shorter side of average. He’s slightly taller than both Smith siblings (until Nya gets her post-merge growth spurt, more on that later), about the same height as Lloyd, then shorter than Cole and Zane
• He does have pretty long limbs, it makes him fast and nimble. He’s very light on his feet.
• Born with blue eyes, and they just get more of a vibrant blue as he becomes more in touch with his elemental powers. As an older man, he eventually goes blind in one eye due to an accident
• He has some lightning scars on his body from electrocuting himself by accident
• He doesn’t like to admit it, but Jay enjoys the finer and slightly feminine things in life, like fancy shoes, flowy-twirly clothes, painting his nails, makeup
• He’s more of a dog person
• Probably a Pisces

Kai

• He was almost illiterate until 15 years old when Sensei Wu taught him to read and write better.
• He’s TERRIBLE at math and has pretty so-so handwriting
• He’s the guy that thinks he’s really good at video games, and it’s not that he’s bad at them, but he’s playing on normal and all of his friends are playing on hard. That is how I would describe him.
• But he does have the most followers on social media
• He’s not the best dancer, but he’s a really good singer. Bit shy though.
• Fear of being alone
• He got over his fear of water, but he is still very afraid of drowning (but that’s pretty normal
• He is a Short King™️
• He’s pretty thin, but muscular
• His hands and feet are always really warm (so is the rest of him, really)
• Burn scars on his arms
• He is confident, and he stress the importance of confidence, but I think he has some low-key self-esteem issues. Idk, maybe I’m projecting but if I am it’s not bothering me🧐
• He’s not too fond of animals
• Aries zodiac

Zane

• Fair handwriting. He got his education from reading a lot of books when he lived with his father. After he had his memory switch flipped, he forgot most everything he learned. Luckily, he wandered for a long time before Wu found him again and in that time, he read books, and it helped bring the knowledge back to him. And then he got a lot smarter after he remembered everything cause it all came back to him. Nowadays, he learns most everything he knows from reading books. That’s not very canon, but I like it, so it’s my canon
• He’s gotten pretty good at video games (seeing as how impressive it was that Cole beat his high score).
• He’s good at dancing and he’s learned to sing pretty good as of late.
• No survival instincts
• I have an interesting one for his body type; I headcanon Zane to have had three different bodies so far. For his first one that was built by his father, he is suppose to look like a young boy. He is kinda skinny, average height for a boy his age. Jay and Cole were both taller than him. He was already starting to fall behind his friends in physical maturity when the Overlord exploded him, so maybe that worked out. Zane built his second body using what was available for Borg Industries. Let’s just say, this was not his best model. There are a lot of flaws in his design (as we see in seasons 4-7 he gets put through many technical difficulties). He built himself to look rather buff, not incredibly tall, just broad. This changed a lot after Hands of Time; during that year gap, Zane decided to build himself a better body, one that would hopefully last a really long time. It was a delicate and possibly scary task to transfer his consciousness from one body to another, but it worked out. So his third and current body, has way less flaws, it’s more sturdy, less prone to damage, and for his appearance, he takes it in a whole new direction, making himself very tall and thin.
• Bird person
• Virgo zodiac

Lloyd

• He got just your basic public gradeschool education at Darkleys, on top of all the being evil thing. He doesn’t have great handwriting, but he’s really good and his signature
• Daddy issues, mommy issues, general trust issues… but he’s only aware of the first one
• Very average height and build
• He was born with red eyes, and then over time they started turning more gold, only to shift rather jarringly to a green when he started getting in touch with his elemental powers more. I think as an adult, his eyes start showing evidence of purple, as he embraces his Oni side more
• He is very aesthetic
• Dog person, but eventually owns several cats as an adult.
• He’s a Libra

And finally Nya

• Terrible education, she was illiterate until the ripe ol’ age of 13 when Wu taught he her to read and write. She has pretty nice handwriting tho, considering
• Fear of failure (canon)
• Abandonment issues
• Terrible singer, really really bad (sorry Nya)
• She’s an pretty decent dancer, but it took her a long time for her to get any good
• She’s pretty short. Average weight for a girl of her age, most fat is just muscle bulge (she’s a hunky strong girl). Soft hour glass figure. She’s like… decently busty, but not a lot of people know that because her clothes cover it up pretty well. She has to have more binding underclothes since she’s so athletic all the time.
• Oh yeah, I think I’ve said this before, but after she becomes human again in Crystalized, her eyes turn from brown to blue, and she gets taller.
• I think she’s like… a Cancer zodiac maybe?? Maybe not?????

*gasps for breath*
