Ahoy fellows! And Merry Christmas, early or late, depending on when I post this. Maybe I’ll post it *on* Christmas 0.0
Okay, story time…
ALLLL the way back in like- May? I think?? I was part of play at my local theatre. The show was Murder on the Orient Express (MotOE), I might have mentioned a few times in my older posts. It was honestly one of the best shows that I have been a part of, the cast was really amazing, and we had all become good friends.
And so I decided I wanted to do something special… something I’d never done before; I wanted to make a drawing, of the whole cast as the characters, which came to a total of 16 characters in a drawing. And I wanted to finish it in a month.
AND GUESS WHAT? I TOTALLY DID!!!!!!! Which is insane in and of itself because I’m TERRIBLE at meeting deadlines.
I started drawing RIGHT AFTER our very last performance.
Early sketches 🥲

Then I switched to digital~

And after a whole month, a total of 30 hours put into that Procreate file, I finished it.
I’ll be honest though, a lot of that time was probably just me… staring at the screen… Making a tiny edits that no one will notice… stuff like that.
The reason I wanted to finish it in a month was because we had a cast reunion scheduled, and I thought up this perfect plan that I would get the drawing printed out, and give a copy to my friends! And I did that too!
They all really liked it 🥰
So now, why is all of this information important?
Because last Saturday (the 17th) something REALLY COOL HAPPENED. At my theatre, they were having an auction and a Christmas Serenade and stuff. All money they earned from the auction was going to go towards funding future shows. So I decided to donate an extra printed out copy of my drawing in hopes it would contribute some!
I asked the lady running it to start the price like, $15. I was afraid that was too much.
And then it sold for $150 dollars 😳
So THAT was pretty cool. A step forward for my *artistic career* I would say.
Okay, okay, you wanna see the finished piece? Here ya go

Even after all these months, I still REALLY like this one. Yeah, there are few things I might change, but overall, I really love it.
Why am I only posting the biggest art piece I’ve ever made for the first time NOW and not back when I first made it? You know, since this is my ART BLOG???
Idk 🤷
MOVING ON
I have LOTS of cool new art to share. A couple pieces are fanart, but most of it ISNT
Here’s the fanart first

I don’t love this one, but it is still cute. Hunter and Willow from the Owl House 💚💛 I really like how Willow’s hair turned out, and Hunter has like a good silhouette

Other Huntlow piece. Don’t worry, she’s just resting 🥲
Okay, now some original pieces that I had no idea what I was doing. Literally.

Okay, so as you can see, the colors are all over the place with these pieces! These are a result of a super cool exercise I started doing, using greyscale
What you do is make a little sketch

Then go to settings and turn off the colors
Then color and shade the drawing in greyscale

And then turn the colors back on and see what you get!

Thus far for all of these I have chosen color pallets before hand, that way I get somewhat coherent colors. I’ve also regulated the skin tone on most of these, otherwise I get this 😝

Anyway, if you interested in doing this, maybe check out this video, it’s how I learned to do it
So yeah! Happy holidays, whatever you may celebrate! Thank you for reading, if you liked my art maybe check out my blog. I also have an Instagram @ pirate_scribbles
And if you’ve been following my blog, thank you! Thank you very much 🙂
And now, my fellows I bid thee farewell for now! Take good care!
Movie recommendation: The Aeronauts. It’s a very good movie and it has Eddie Redmayne in it (Newt Scamander)! But don’t watch it if you have anxiety or a fear of heights, because it is rather suspenseful, and VERY high up in the air.
Christmas movie recommendation: White Christmas. This is a very good movie, great actors, adorable plot, grand entertainment, and beautiful costumes. It’s my and my families favorite Christmas movie, and I highly recommend it. (In fact we just turned it on)
Okay bye!
